PRESS RELEASE
AUGUST SAI (1983) will open his personal exhibition Twenty Cases in Draakon gallery at 5pm on Monday, September 24th, 2018. Exhibition will be open until October 13, 2018.
The artist introduces his current exhibition with the story called „Parody“:
„Start. A child witnesses a boat competition from the shore. He is jogging along with the boat. The child holds a string that is attached to a toy boat sliding behind him. The contestants are gearing up. The child won't stay behind. The toy boat is twirling and circling around just like fish on a fish hook. The crowd is applauding. The child is looking on the right, towards the stands. Then he is looking on the left, two boats won't give vantage ground to the other contestant. One boat is black, the other one is white. The child clenches his fist around the string. And is gearing up. His boat called „Don Quijote!“ comes smoothly along. Everyone is ready to put on a final spurt. Oars versus the fleet-footed child. Everything else seems to be disappearing at that moment. Only the noise from heart can be heard and burning pain in feet can be felt. The eyes cannot see. The body is racing on its own at full speed. The child is abuptly pulling the string. The boats are rushing by. He lets go of the string and stops. Finish.“
Exhibitions in Draakon gallery are supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and Estonian Ministry of Culture.
