MARKO MÄETAMM (1965) will open his personal exhibition PAINTING AND WAITING in Hobusepea and Draakon galleries at 5pm on April 2nd, 2013. Artist talk will be held in both galleries at 5pm on April 11, 2013.


The following conversation about present exhibition was held by artist Marko Mäetamm (M) and gallerist Elin Kard (E) in Tammsaare Park on March 31st, 2013:

M: „I have a headache.“
E: „A headache? Again...?“
M: „What do you mean again?“
E: „You had it yesterday too!“
M: „I had what?“
E: „A headache! Yesterday! Don´t you remember?“
M: „Hmmm.... nooooo.....“
E: „Also two days ago...“
M: „....zzzz...zzzz....zzzz“
E: „What?“
M: „Shit...“
E: „Hey!“
M: „What?“
E: „We should talk about your paintings now ...“
M: „Yes..! No! Yes! No! ...Yes! No! Yes! No! Yes! No!! Yes!! No!!! ...Yes? Fuck! No!!
     Do we stay in this press release late?“
E: „No, we are not.“
M: „Yes, we are!“
E: „No, we are not! Opening starts at five.“
M: „You said it was at six!“
E: „No I didn´t!!!“
M: „Yes you did!“
E: „No I didn´t!“

E: “I said it was at five. But you probrably just didn´t listen...“
M: „Now we are actually here too early. Let´s have a coffee somewhere.“
E: „Mhmh...“
M: „What?“

E: „Nothing. How often do you paint?“
M: „Eight days a week.“
E: „Have you ever done it before at all?“
M: „No...“
E: „Asshole! I knew it!“
M: „I think I have to go now...“
E: „Hey! Come back! Wait!!!“
M: „I want to break free... I want to breeaak free... I want to break free nan-nan-nann-
     naa nan-nan-nan-nan-nann-naaa-hahahaaaa... I want to break free... God knoows...
     God knows i want to breeeak free...“
E: „Hey! Can you slow down a bit??“
M: „What? Ha-ha-ha! Yes! Ha-ha-ha!“
E: „Of cource... Well, did you enjoy painting?“
M: „Not really. When I open the doo-ho-ho-hoor...Oh I want to break free-je-he-heah...
      Oooh I want to breeaak free... Oooh I want to break freeee...“
E: „Why...?“
M: „There was too many colours and this guy was exactly like me.“
E: „Which guy?“
M: „This psycho.“
E: „A psycho? There was no any psycho!“
M: „There was. This stupid guy, exactly like me!“
E: „You mean this guy?? He was not like you at all!!!“
M: „Of cource he was! Ha-ha-ha.“
E: „I really liked those paintings very much. Honestly!“
M: „I thought you really didn´t like them ...“
E: „I did, I did! I did like absolutely everything!“
M: „But... what about this psycho?“
E: „Ah, forget it!“
M: „But nan-nan-nan-nan-naaaa.... When I open the doo-ho-ho-hoor... Oh I want to
     break free-je-he-heah... Oooh I want to breeaak free... Oooh I want to break
     freeee... Nan-nan-nan-nan-naaa... Nan-nan-nan-nann-naa-haaa... Nan-nan-nan-
     nann-nann-nann-naa-hahahaaa...“
E: „Shut up...“
M: „God knows – I want to break free-he-he-he... But time still goes on...Nan-nan-nan-
     nan-nan-nanana-naa-ha-nan-nan-nan-naa-ha-haaahaaa.“
E: „Do you really have to do it now?“
M: „What do you mean?“
E: „I mean do you have to shave your legs exactly now?“
M: „Sorry but I don´t have time to wait when you finish! I need to go to work!“
E: „Hey! What´s wrong with you?!“
M: „Nothing!!! What´s wrong with you??! It was you who said that I should shave my
     legs more often!“
E: „Me?? I never said that!!!!!!“
M: „Come on! Stop it! Don´t start again!“
E: „What? It´s you who starts again, not me!“
M: „No, you start again and I´m exactly like this psycho! Ha-ha-ha!
     Yes! Ha-ha-ha!“
E: „Mmmmmmmm...“
M: „Hey!“
E: „What?“
M: „Waaaaaaa...“
