PRESS RELEASE
ROBIN ELLIS META (1989) will open personal exhibition U+1F6AE in Hobusepea gallery at 6pm on Wednesday, August 5th, 2018. Exhibition will be open until September 24, 2018.
Robin Ellis Meta has obtained BA degree at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague in 2016. The artist has been in their homeland, Estonia, since the beginning of 2017. It is there, that Meta restarted their characteristically critical Instagram documentary photography and vlogging. “U+1F6AE” was born through the research of the exploratory archive materials and publications. The title refers to the “put litter in its place” symbol.
The exhibition’s format deals with topics like municipal waste, creation in the digitalized world and avatar based virtual identity. Meta expresses the last through finished and unfinished artworks, by creating a correlation that loses all need for a finished end product.
Robin Ellis Meta is musing “Your trash is my art”.
Artist thanks the EAA Gallery.
